We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented person for a Junior Portfolio Manager position in our Investment Management and Trust department.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRIVATE TRUST OFFICER
As a Junior Portfolio Manager, you will:
- Assist senior Portfolio Managers with client-related projects, asset allocation monitoring, account rebalancing, account trading, transaction processing and prospecting
- Coordinate, develop and maintain customized presentation materials for internal and external use
- Monitor corporate actions, corporate litigations, proxy-voting, in-out of balance monitoring, security pricing and worthless/non-transferrable securities
- Assist in the creation of written client communication materials
The candidate for this position should have an interest in client service, investment communication, investment account management and securities trading. Education or past experience should reflect this interest.
The Junior Portfolio Manager will report directly to our Director of Research and will have significant interaction with the firm’s Investment Committee, Research Committee and client service team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Economics is preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in an investment capacity is preferred (internships considered)
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel and PowerPoint, specifically)
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task are essential to this position as well as a solid understanding of math concepts, good written communication skills and a desire to solve problems. Other beneficial qualities include assertiveness, the ability to make timely decisions as well as take and give good direction.
Must enjoy people and be willing and eager to interact pleasantly with customers and fellow associates alike. Must understand the team concept and be able to function as a member of a team as the team works towards a common goal. It is essential to observe the strictest confidentiality on the subject of accounts and activities of any kind dealing with the bank.
