Student Loans

At WoodTrust Bank we consider education an investment in the future. We can offer a helping hand with your Student Loans.

Step One:

Free applications may be picked up for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your high school guidance office, the college you plan to attend, or you may access it on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov (please note some schools may require their own financial aid applications in addition to the FAFSA, please check with your school). Complete the FAFSA and submit it to the address on the form as soon as possible.

Step Two:

You will receive an "Award Letter" from your school that will state your demonstrated financial need, the type and amounts of financial aid for which you qualify, and your expected family contribution.

Step Three:

Select a loan option that meets your needs. If you awards letter recommends a federal loan, you and/or your parents may be eligible for either a Federal Stafford and/or a PLUS loan. To determine which loan option best fits your needs call 800-247-0462 for assistance.

Step Four:

Elan Loan Application: Your school should send applications to you, or you may be eligible to complete your application online through your school's website. If not, call Elan Student Loan Division at 800-247-0462.
